How to prepare
To increase your sensitivity and openness I highly recommend refraining from alcohol and other substances for 24-48 hours prior in preparation. Eat as cleanly as possible (no processed foods or sugar).
Have a very light breakfast the day of and do not eat anything after 10am. Of course, you are having a fun trip to LA and the day prior is the Superbowl. Just do your best to be mindful about what you ingest - substances, media, etc. Everything is energy.
Set an intention - between now and then, set aside some time for intuitive stream of consciousness writing and see if anything interesting comes up that you'd like to further explore. If you're currently doing any focused self-work, this is the perfect setting to further explore and receive more clarity. (Guided questions found HERE)
Give yourself some open space & time the next day. No huge work or social obligations will optimize your integration process.
What to pack
Comfortable layers of clothing for temperature changes: sweater, hoodie, scarf, jacket, socks, shorts, skirt, pants etc. (you’ll be both hot and cold throughout the night) If you have white clothing, please bring it.
Refillable water bottle
Journal & pen
We will have everything you will need to be comfortable (blankets, pillows, eyemasks, etc)
Intentions (see below)

“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.“
- Viktor E. Frankl
Space exists between the external events/ internal thoughts and our reactions to these events or thoughts in our lives. The more we can understand how to create and use space as a tool to override our initial conditioned reactions, the more we can respond to life with the ability to choose consciously and from a place of presence and equanimity. This is true freedom.
In sound meditations, we learn how to listen. I believe the world would be a better place if we all learned to listen. Listening is a skill. Listening is not a passive experience. Listening is a tool which enables us to become present. Listening to the inner self guides us to silence, stillness, wisdom, and clarity. Listening to others allows us to attune to them and to help them feel seen, heard, and held.

The journey is introspective and
comprised of five parts:
The engaging sonic journey includes 5 chapters:
Brief Informative Talk : Nicole will discuss the esoteric & therapeutic properties of sound in addition to sharing tools for you to use as you navigate your inner experience.
Breathwork: You will be guided through holotropic breathwork that will enable you to disconnect from the “monkey mind” just enough to reach heightened states of awareness and a deeper state of meditation. Breathwork is a crucial entry point of the sound journey because it is a practice of embodiment - meaning it gets us out of our head and into our body.
Vocal Meditation: Using your own voice, you will discover your unique frequencies, while tuning into the surrounding sounds and voices. The vocalization and harmonization will allow you to explore felt sense experiences of self-expression, self-acceptance, and self-empowerment.
Sound: You will be guided through a sonic journey into the inner landscape of self using overtone-emitting instruments (gongs, singing bowls, chimes, tuning forks etc.) These rich overtones affect the brainwave cycles, neurochemistry, autonomic nervous system, heart-rate variability, and subtle energy in the body. The sound meditation sets the stage for a deep, meditative and unique altered state of consciousness allowing us to disconnect from physical, mental, emotional and psychological habitual patterns.
Connection: We will have time to share thoughts, feelings, and realizations about our individual experiences. This is often the most beautiful part. Afterwards, we will share a nourishing meal.
IMPORTANT!
You must let me know if you’re taking antidepressants (SSRIs, MAO inhibitors), anti-anxiety or antipsychotic medication, and if you have high blood pressure, heart related issues, or any diagnosed mental/emotional disorders.
